Finally I’m back on Flickr after a prolonged pause…. Here’s a taster to begin a short run from Varanasi, one of the spiritually significant cities of Hinduism. The Ganges (or Ganga as it is known in Hindi) runs by a series of Ghats (steps) which are used for Pooja (worship) - as well as cremation in a couple of locations.
This boy was sitting contently outside our hotel - which was also right by the Ghats and river… great views from the terrace though not exactly tranquil, especially at 3am.
